Superfood Collagen Hot Cocoa

Talk about a cozy, warming, nutritious treat in liquid form! This cup of hot cocoa is filled with nutrients and protein that are hidden under the cover of that cup of rich deliciousness that makes you think of snow days and curling up by the fire place. It's the comfort of homemade hot cocoa with some bonus goods to make you feel great!

Ingredients: 2 cups milk of choice (almond, cashew, or cow's milk would all work great) 2 TBSP cacao powder 2 tsp maca powder 1/4 tsp dried turmeric 1 tsp cinnamon 2-3 dashes chili powder 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (honey is lower FODMAP) 1 scoop collagen peptides (optional -- omit to make vegan; I use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides)

Instructions: In a medium saucepan, add milk and all other ingredients and heat over medium-high heat. As the mixture is heating, whisk all the ingredients together vigorously until everything is well combined and begins to become frothy. Once hot (about 4-5 minutes), remove from heat and pour into a mug. Drink immediately to enjoy it warm.

Makes one full mug + a few TBSP extra (one large mug-full).
